Owner

endota day spa - Gymea

Your haven in the Shire to take time out for yourself to relax, rejuvenate and replenish. Think massage, facials, body treatments, waxing, organic spray tanning and perfectly polished pedicures.

About Megan:

Megan has been managing endota spa in Gymea since early 2012 during which time her team has grown from 6 to over 30. Lots of lessons and lots of growth over this time means Megan's role has morphed somewhat. From working 5+ days on reception Megan now spends her time training her growing team of staff to look after her clients and enabling the business to grow to its full potential to accommodate more and more clients. The first and only endota spa in the Shire is kept very busy with lots of wonderful clients who look after their marketing for them with the amazing word of mouth and by spreading the love with spa gift vouchers.

Megan moved to the Shire specifically to open endota spa and loves her new beachy lifestyle! Previously Megan was living in the Hills District working in corporate accommodation, after growing up in country NSW; not too far from Canberra. Prior to the move she had studied Business Administration, Marketing and Entrepreneurship at University and worked in a sports club group – first as a hospitality trainee, then several steps later as Marketing Manager. Years in the hospitality industry confirmed that Megan was definitely into customer service, but there was a certain depth missing.

Now as Spa Director and owner of endota spa Gymea, Megan has the perfect opportunity to provide exceptional customer service with the honest, down to earth foundation of Australia's largest day spa network. Not only can Megan now make people happy, but healthier too! A big fan of organics and sustainability, travel and adventure - Megan's new career is ticking lots of boxes!

The Journey:

The beginning of the endota journey for Megan was in May 2011 when she and her sister Kirsty began researching day spa franchises in Australia. The brand would need to be Australian. It must use organic products and have a very strong focus on sustainability and the environment. To fit in with their personalities and their ambitions the brand would also need to be down to earth, honest and real; nothing fluffy or pretentious. Having enjoyed spa treatments at endota previously Kirsty knew that their spas and treatments were beautiful and the more research she did, the more she grew to love the brand and the philosophies behind it.

Meanwhile, endota had been approached by the Tradies Club to open a spa in Gymea as part of a $15 million upgrade to their iconic facilities. An opportunity was on offer to own the biggest endota day spa in New South Wales, and after some careful consideration Megan and Kirsty agreed that Tradies would indeed make an ideal location. With free undercover parking, a brand new cafe, a popular local restaurant and outstanding function facilities it seemed like a winning combination. Add to that a great location, and a young dynamic team committed to environmental sustainability and community involvement and the deal was done.

The official first day of trade was April 29th 2012 and from here the team has not looked back. As newbies to the spa industry Kirsty and Megan were very careful to recruit the very best staff they could. Not only would they need to be diploma qualified, passionate about health and wellbeing, sincere in their desire to help others and come with raving references, but they also needed to be committed to sustainability, to the environment, to organic philosophies and be willing to get involved in local community events and organisations.

Our therapists love what they do and that shines through in their work. They have a genuine care and compassion that is evident to anyone who's already experienced one of our treatments. Yes they are highly qualified, yes they have great spa experience and yes they are continually adding to their skills through on the job training, but what's most important is that our people are passionate about their craft and are completely committed to helping our clients feel great!

In 2017 Megan took over the reins as sole owner of the spa and with her amazing team of beauty therapists, remedial massage therapists, receptionists and 'spa fairies' (kind of like the housework fairies we all wish would run around and clean our houses for us!) is looking forward to the next amazing few years of growth, success, healing and giving in the Sutherland Shire!
