Senior Lawyer - Commercial Division

Anika Fleet is a senior lawyer in the commercial division at WMD Law where she practices in the areas of commercial law, dispute resolution and litigation. She loves working in and having in-depth knowledge of these diverse areas of legal practice where she can assist clients in a variety of situations with sound, practical legal advice.

The types of matters she advises on are diverse – often ranging from common commercial disputes about payments or legal rights/obligations pursuant to contracts, insurance claims, employment disputes, estate disputes, construction disputes and property disputes - to advising, negotiating or preparing commercial contracts such as shareholders agreements, employment agreements, distribution agreements and terms of trade for businesses. She also provides general advice about corporation's law, insolvency and asset protection strategies.

Throughout the 8 years that Anika has worked at WMD Law, she has assisted individuals and companies in the Sutherland Shire, metropolitan Sydney and regional NSW on many complex matters and has represented clients in various courts and tribunals in NSW and Victoria. She enjoys learning about different people, businesses and industries, and then formulating and implementing strategies to help solve the legal matter at hand. She is motivated to help clients overcome their legal challenges and guides clients through their individual situations by providing sound advice based on legal principle that focuses on the client's interests and objectives.

Raised in the shire, Anika attended Woolooware High School and went on to study Law and Commerce at the University of Wollongong. In December 2007, she received a scholarship from WMD Law to work at the firm whilst she finished her final year of study. Anika graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2008 and was admitted as a lawyer in February 2009. Between 2012 and 2014, whilst continuing to work full-time at WMD Law, she also completed her Masters of Law at the University of Sydney where she undertook advanced courses on a range of commercial law subjects. In her free time, Anika enjoys having a glass of wine with family and friends.

The team at WMD Law are highly trained and skilled in their specialised areas of law - commercial law, family law, property law, estates and criminal law. The lawyers from each specialty group collaborate as a team to ensure that the firm's clients are provided with the highest level of expertise and service for their situation.
