Southern Sydney BEN (SSBEN) is a not for profit organisation that has been assisting young people to make successful transitions from school to work, training or further education for over 10 years.

We are part of a Statewide Network of organisations building relationships to help achieve better educational outcomes for all young Australians.

We do this a few ways:

1) Work Placement Program-This program provides opportunities for students studying a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course either at school or TAFE, as part of their Higher School Certificate an opportunity to spend a week with an employer. Students can see what a real workplace is like in an area of interest to them.

2) Youth Frontiers Mentoring Program-Youth Frontiers is funded by the NSW Government and links students in Years 8 and 9 with a screened and trained adult mentor who helps them to build life skills and self-confidence, while working collaboratively on a community project. If you have ever thought about giving back to your community become a Youth Frontiers Mentor today!

3) Career transition courses-these flexible courses are for young people to get an edge on their career direction. Resume writing, job search skills and mock interviews are all part of the suite of products.

We are currently looking for volunteer interviewers for our mock interview sessions. To find out more about becoming a host employer, a Youth Frontiers mentor, or assisting with mock interviews contact:SSBEN on 9521 0500 or
